Individual Sex Therapy and Psychotherapy

Understanding Kink Dynamics

BDSM/Kink has gained a great deal of international media attention in recent years, becoming mainstream and allowing many people the freedom to explore their curiosities. However, these are still complex relationships with intricate structures. I help both new and veteran members of the community to navigate relationship difficulties without judgment and with a nuanced understanding of power dynamics.

Navigating Non-Monogamy

Ethical non-monogamy has also begun to gain popularity in recent years, as monogamous couples explore the concepts of open relationships, monogamish, polyamory, swinging, and other forms of non-monogamy. In therapy, couples can work to open their relationships in an agreeable and healthy manner. Triads, polycules, and couples can come to me for help to keep things running smoothly or to work out any difficulties.

Working Through Sexuality Challenges

Sexuality Issues, such as impulsiveness, differences in libido, or painful sex can all be barriers to a fulfilling sex life. In therapy, these issues can be addressed openly without fear of judgment.

Trauma Recovery with Compassion

Trauma and abuse survivors can experience many difficulties throughout life, including difficulty sustaining relationships, an inability to get close to or trust others, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, and sexual issues, just to name a few. I have worked with survivors of many types of trauma (veterans, rape/sexual abuse, domestic violence, and trauma related to kink scenes). Going at your pace, we can carefully and sensitively work on these issues.

Couples (or More!) Counseling

Out-of-State Teletherapy

The pandemic taught us that we don’t have to be in the same room for therapy to be effective! If you don’t have time for the drive, live in another part of NC, or live in another state, fear not. I provide telehealth to residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida.

Professional Consultation

I provide supervision to social workers working towards their LCSW. I have supervised several field placement interns, as well as engaging in professional consultation with colleagues during the course of 20+ years in practice. Additionally, I have also passed the NASW-NC supervision exam. I enjoy formulating the psychodynamics of a case, particularly those that are complex.
